How fast does your blog load?
The loading speed of your blog or site is really important!
There is a magic number said to be 4 seconds or under, if your site takes a long time to load then, chances are, your visitor is gone before they see your page.
Here are some steps you can take to check your website loading time.
1. Go to http://pingdom.com
2. Select tools from the menu.
3. Enter your URL web address.
4. Watch as Pingdom checks your site and gives you a chart of loading times.
Now, if you find your site is loading very slowly, check the chart and see whats causing the problem.
If your site is loading slow then do this:
5. Open your ftp and go to WP content plugins and temorarly disable plugins by changing the plugins directory like this xxxplugins.
6. Go back to pingdom and re-test your site load time.
7. Again look for the cause of the problem in the pingdom analytics chart.
8. Fix the problem.
9. Don’t forget to change the plugins folder name back to plugins.
10. Go back to pingdom and run another test.
